Hello! Hola! Bonjour! Namaste! Hallo! Ciao! Ola!
I am a native of the southwestern Appalachia mountains of Virginia and moved to Myrtle Beach the day after I graduated from college at the University of Virginia. I've been a resident of Horry County, South Carolina since 1995. After completing graduate school, I joined the Technical College system of South Carolina and worked as a Counselor at HGTC with a focus on Career Counseling for our students, local high school students and co-led team building workshops with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator system for various community organizations on behalf of the college. After four years at the college level, I went in to the elementary world as school counselor for 11 years.
I joined CASC in 2018 as the Family Engagement Coordinator and transitioned to the Counseling Team in October of 2019. I'm excited to begin working again in the Career Counseling field with CASC students and look forward to exploring all college and career options with our students, in and outside of the virtual classroom. I view career counseling as the skill of knowing and then knowing how to use your unique "thumbprint" to choose your best path after high school. We all bring unique gifts and talents to a team, project or job. I look forward to helping students find the career path that will be most exciting and pleasurable for them for the long-term and one that will best fit their most natural personality, skillsets and guiding morals and values. Only by considering all of these criteria from a uniquely personal angle, will each student find their most satisfying career path.
I look forward to working with the students and families of CASC! To discuss a YOUnique career exploration plan, contact me by email at [email protected]. I am excited to help you find and pursue the best path for YOU!
